Lisa Selby

Lisa Selby is an artist, filmmaker, and Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University whose work focuses on substance dependency, incarceration, and mental health.

She is the creator of Blue Bag Life, an online community platform that evolved into a critically acclaimed, BAFTA-nominated 2022 feature documentary. The deeply personal film explores her maternal trauma regarding her late mother’s heroin addiction, alongside her own journey through recovery and her partner's experience with incarceration. Beyond filmmaking, Selby is an active advocate who serves as a judge for the Koestler Awards, amplifying the voices of families affected by prison and addiction.
