Tanicha Toro-Oloto

Tanicha is an award winning filmmaker based in Kent, whose work explores themes of identity, resilience and social change. Through her family’s experiences, she has a personal connection to stories of recovery and the power of lived experience. She has worked with award winning organisations across documentary and the social sectors, championing authentic storytelling that creates impact. Tanicha is passionate about films that spark conversation and inspire change and is thrilled to be part of this year’s Recovery Street Film Festival judging panel as well as behind the scenes as the festival's assistant, collaborating closely on the first ever Young People’s Prize.
